Episode 1: Kevin Haskins Talks New Book Bauhaus-Undead-SLIS Podcast founding member and drummer discusses revisiting his Goth roots with his deluxe coffee table book and much more.

Very exciting news here at Smells Like Infinite Sadness: we’ve finally launched a podcast!

I know, I know. It’s taken awhile for me to get going on this, but better late than never!

And I couldn’t have had a better guest to kick off the proceedings: Kevin Haskins, the drummer of legendary acts Bauhaus, Tones on Tail and Love and Rockets.

Haskins called in to discuss Bauhaus – Undead: The Visual History and Legacy of Bauhaus (out March 16th via Cleopatra Records), his new deluxe coffee table book recounting his tenure with the group (which also featured vocalist Peter Murphy, bassist David J, and guitarist Daniel Ash) that helped influence Goth subculture thanks to classic tracks like Bela Lugosi’s Dead, She’s In Parties and Dark Entries.

Full of recollections, never before seen photos, poster art and more, it should thrill diehard fans who followed the group from their original run from the late 70’s to early 80’s, to two brief reunions in the late 90’s and the mid-00’s (you can pre-order it via Amazon at the bottom of the post).

In addition to discussing the book, he also talked about what’s next for Poptone, his recent project featuring Ash and his daughter Diva Dompe.

So check out the full interview via Anchor.Fm below, and stay tuned in the coming weeks when I’ll be interviewing the likes of Dean Ween and Dave Wyndorf.

You can click here to subscribe to the SLIS podcast via iTunes or via the widget below. For Google Play and other podcast distribution services, stay tuned! I’ll have subscriptions links to all shortly.

And a big shoutout to L.A. space rockers Interstelar for supplying the theme Hold It, which you can buy off Bandcamp (or just buy the whole Resin EP). It ROCKS.
