Trent Reznor Previews ‘Gone Girl’ Soundtrack: Original score to David Fincher film will be released next week.
David Fincher’s film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s ‘Gone Girl’ won’t hit theaters until October 3rd, but you can hear the soundtrack next week.

The score, composed by Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor and his frequent collaborator Atticus Ross will feature 24 tracks. Last week Reznor released the first teaser, with the track ‘The Way He Looks At Me.’ And on September 23rd, he previewed three new songs: ‘Sugar Storm’, ‘Background Noise’ and ‘Just Like You’, via Soundcloud, which you can listen to below:
This marks the third cinematic collaboration between the duo and Fincher. Reznor and Ross won Oscars for their initial collaboration on “The Social Network”, and received Golden Globe nominations for their work on “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.”
“Gone Girl” offers a sonic departure, with the electronic-centric Reznor’s first collaboration with a orchestra.
From sampling the tracks, one can discern a beauty that’s at first serene, but then goes sinister. Reznor noted that the filmmaker asked them to: “think about the really terrible music you hear in massage parlors. The way that it artificially tries to make you feel like everything’s OK. And then imagine that sound starting to curdle and unravel.”
