Stream The New XX Album ‘Coexist’
The XX are allowing everyone to stream their new release ‘Coexist‘ off their website, a week before the official release. Check it out here.
Besides getting a free preview, there’s the extra cool touch of seeing a global map, showing all the parts of the world where folks are listening (you can opt out of giving your locale if you wish). The vaporous trails spreading across the globe are hypnotic to look at, perfectly matched by the gauzy, chilled out charm of the unfolding music.
The XX’s début was that rare thing; a perfect album, filled with cavernous sonics and pulsing emotions. Sultry yet chilly. Greatness. So they have their work cut out for them to avoid the sophomore slump. I was a bit indifferent to their single “Angels”, so I’m glad to get a chance to give a full listen to the song set. Thus far I like much of what I hear.
The full album will be available in the U.S. and Europe on September 11th.
