Primal Scream Announce North American Tour Dates, Release ‘Goodbye Johnny’ Video
Slicing Up Eyeballs has announced that Scottish alt-rock band Primal Scream will be headed to the U.S. and Canada for a short tour to promote recent album ‘More Light.’ The tour is set for Spring of 2014.

Interestingly, the band will kick off their tour in the unlikely spot of Houston, TX, but that will be followed by a more logical step; playing the Psych Fest in Austin TX on May 2nd. Following that they’ll make the trek up North and finish in Toronto, Ontario.
UPDATE: Some shows have been cancelled. Click here for revised tour dates.
The 2014 Psych Festival has a strong lineup. In addition to Primal Scream, The Horrors, Liars, Black Angels, The Zombies are all set to play, so I may have to pony up the cash (click here for full lineup).
I got a chance to check them out on their XTRMNR tour in 2000 and they put on a hell of a show. Given that ‘More Light’ is their best album since 2002’s underrated ‘Evil Heat’, I expect they’ll still deliver the goods.
And given their recent exposure on the World’s End soundtrack, this is a ripe chance to seize on 90’s nostalgia while still remaining current.
