Queens of the Stone Age Album new album ‘Like Clockwork’ to be released in June.
Queens Of The Stone Age fans have a just a few more months to wait until they can hear the band’s new album. ‘Like Clockwork.’ It’s set to be released in June (although the official date hasn’t been announced).
The long in the works album is their first release since 2007’s ‘Era Vulgaris’. It’ll be their first release on their new label, Matador Records.
There’s much anticipation given the collaborators on this project, and not just because it’s Josh Homme and co’s first release in 6 years.
Dave Grohl returns to drummer duties, (although he won’t be playing on tour), as does original bassist Nick Oliveri (in more limited capacity.)
Add in Mark Lanegan, Trent Reznor, and Elton John (?!?) and you have what looks to be another diverse entry in one of alternative rocks most surprising outfits. All signs point to awesomeness.
Grohl recently discussed his involvement with the new QOTSA record, as has Oliveri, who seems to finally be mending the fence that was broken upon his dismissal from the band years back.
The band also released a humorous ‘mockumentary’ of the behind the scenes sessions, which you can check out here.
And you can hear snippets of the new QOTSA material via the band’s official website. Every time you refresh the site, you’ll get a sample of a different song.
Curious to hear if any of the material will be reminiscent to the work that Grohl, Homme and Reznor did on the Sound City Players album (click here to read my album review, and you can click here to read my film review.)
Rest assured I’ll be reviewing this in June, and counting down the days until I can do so!
What do you think of the snippets for ‘Like Clockwork‘ and are you as excited as I am? Chime in below.
