Listen to Thom Yorke’s UK Gold Soundtrack featuring Massive Attack and Elbow: film chronicles British tax evasion scandal.
UK Gold is a controversial film diving into the hot button issue of tax evasion in Great Britain. And it has a vocal advocate: Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, who has scored the project with assistance from Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja (aka 3-D) and Elbow’s Guy Garvey and Euan Dickinson. Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood also contributed to the film score.
To help give the doc a publicity boost, Yorke is streaming the soundtrack for free via Soundcloud, which you can listen to below.
UK Gold (directed by Mark Donne and narrated by Dominic West ) will be broadcast on London Live Tonight at 8pm Wed, February 25th.
In his press statement Yorke had this to say about the film: “Now is the time to reveal the revolving doors between government and the City that has bred lies and corruption for so long, siphoning money through our tax havens for the global super rich, while now preaching that we the people must pay our taxes and suffer austerity. Just who does our government work for?”
In other Radiohead and Massive Attack news: Yorke and Greenwood are currently working on their forthcoming studio album. Massive Attack are collaborating with hip-hop duo Run The Jewels. It’s not yet known if it’s a one-off collaboration for the next Massive Attack studio album or a separate project.
