To give fans a taste of what to expect from the new release, the group has released Star Roving, their first single in over 22 years, which you can listen to via YouTube below:

Band frontman Neil Halstead discussed the new album in a recent press release: “When the band decided to get back together in 2014, we really wanted to make new music. It’s taken us a whole load of shows and a few false starts to get to that point, but it’s with pride and a certain trepidation we unleash ‘Star Roving.’ It’s part of a bunch of new tracks we’ve been working on and it feels as fun, and as relevant playing together now as it did when we first started. We hope folks enjoy it.”

Longtime fans should be pleased by the new track; its classic Slowdive, with elements of post-punk, ambient and goth that helped set them apart from the rest of the dream-pop pack in the 90’s, with Halstead and co-vocalist Rachel Goswell’s dreamy intertwining voices cascading over diffuse guitar soundscapes .

As far as a new album release date? That’s up in the air, but according to Pitchfork, the group have signed with label Dead Oceans. We’ll keep you posted when release details are set.

Until then, take a listen and let us know your thoughts on Star Roving.
