Billy Corgan whets Smashing Pumpkin fans appetites for the deluxe Adore reissue with demo of ‘Let Me Give The World To You’
Smashing Pumpkins’s massive ‘Adore’ deluxe box-set won’t be released until September 23rd, but frontman Billy Corgan is giving fans a peek into its contents. Corgan posted a demo of ‘Let Me Give The World To You’ on the band’s official website.
The Rick Rubin produced track is a punchier, more grandiose beast than the diffuse, dreampop version that appeared on the band’s album Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music.
In fact the track sounds more like it could be a demo from ‘Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness‘ than the gloomy electronic beauty of ‘Adore‘. Which makes me all the more curious about the variety of outtakes and B-sides that make up the seven disc/107 song set. Past deluxe box sets have been impressive must haves for Pumpkin-ites. I expect ‘Adore‘ to be no exception.

Corgan isn’t content just to look back on past glories however. He’s also working on two new Pumpkins albums which feature Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee. The albums, titled ‘Monuments To An Elegy’ and ‘Day For Night’, are set for an early 2014 release. He’s also busy with his wrestling company, hanging with his cats, and penning an epic-sized autobiography.
The singer is also holding a contest for fans to meet him at the Ravinia festival by submitting their dream Smashing Pumpkins setlist. Click here for details.
