Listen To New Failure Song ‘The Focus’; fans can download the reunited band’s 2nd 2014 single on Bandcamp.
Just last month, reunited 90’s space-rockers Failure released ‘Come Crashing’, their first new song in 18 years. And now the band have released a second single, ‘The Focus.’

Like ‘Come Crashing’, ‘The Focus’ is available for purchase on the band’s Bandcamp page. And you can preview the new track via our embed below:
The song is catchy and driving, conjuring all the elements in Failure’s arsenal; new wave artiness, 90’s heaviness and tuneful yet allowing for moments of dissonance.
When I spoke to Ken Andrews last month, he said the rejuvenated band’s goal was to have a new album out by early 2015, but at this rate, perhaps it will come out even sooner?
It looks like the 18 years apart haven’t dulled the group’s musical vocabulary, and they are picking up right where they left off, which is wonderful news for diehard fans who have been clamoring for a reunion for nearly two decades.
It’s also quite heartening to see a band that never got mass exposure in their early years come back to such fanfare. This has been evidenced by Failure receiving prominent slots of major festivals like Fun Fun Fun Fest and RiotFest.
So take a listen to ‘The Focus’ and tell us your thoughts. We’ll have a review of the band’s recent Houston show up later this week.
