Garbage To Release 20th Anniversary Debut Album Reissue: band mark 20th birthday of début album with a deluxe special edition and 20 Years Queer Tour, both taking place in October.
Last month marked the 20th anniversary of Garbage’s genre-defying self-titled début album, featuring the hits Queer, Only Happy When it Rains, and Stupid Girl. And the band is marking the special occasion with their 20 Years Queer Tour, where there’ll be performing the album in its entirety.
And this week the group also announced a deluxe reissue of their début album, set for release on October 2nd. The Garbage (20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition) will feature remastered tracks, as well as 10 unreleased remixes and demos.
Band front-woman Shirley Manson announced in a press release that: “This is a very special occasion for all of us in Garbage. We are particularly excited about the upcoming tour – the intent of which is pretty much the celebration of a 20 year long affair between us and those who have loved us.”
The band gave a sneak peek of what’s in store, releasing the “Supersize” remix of ‘Subhuman’, the B-side to lead single ‘Vow’, which you can check out below, followed by full special edition track listing, 20 Years Queer tour dates, and Amazon and iTunes pre-order links.

So I guess this means the other b-sides are being saved for that set the band have talked about for the last decade yet never gotten around to. Argh. I like that they give us demos but more remixes? Really? If you haven’t heard their non-album beauties ‘Driving Lesson’ and ‘Alien Sex Fiend’ from this era track them down.
Wow I just checked out both tracks you mentioned: very cool indeed…’Driving Lesson’ in particular. Sweet.
One other tiny bit of trivia. Alien Sex Fiend did a song on their 1997 album Nocturnal Emissions named ‘Garbage’ which, if you listen closely at the end has Nik singing the phrase ‘stupid girl’ backmasked which was the single that Garbage b-side is from.
