Episode 4: Sponge’s Vinnie Dombroski Talks 2018 Tour-SLIS Podcast: alt-rock frontman discusses band’s current tour, working on new music, looking back on their legacy, the future of rock and roll and much more in our new interview.
We were off for a bit, but the SLIS podcast is back in a big way this week. I spoke to Vinnie Dombroski, the frontman for Sponge, the veteran alternative rock act best known for 90’s era hits like Plowed, Molly, Have You Seen Mary and Wax Ecstatic.
We spoke about Sponge’s current North American tour, how the band keep things lively by their ever evolving set list (and some surprising rock covers). We also talked about the current state of rock and roll, his thoughts on the late David Bowie and Chris Cornell, and insight into the creation of the band’s biggest hits as well as some of their more underrated material
It was a great chat, and you can check out the full interview with Vinnie by clicking here to listen on Apple Podcasts, or you can also listen via the Anchor FM and the Stitcher widgets below (Note: for those listening via Anchor, I’ve included a special Spotify playlist featuring some of my all-time favorite Sponge songs!)
You can check out earlier podcast episodes by clicking here, and be sure to tune back in next week, when I’ll be talking to James Stevenson, the veteran guitarists for acts including Gene Loves Jezebel, Generation X, Kim Wilde, The Alarm, Tricky and The Cult. It should prove entertaining and educational!
