Album Release News: Muse, Roxy Music
Muse will be releasing their long awaited follow up to 2009’s “The Resistance” when their new album, “The 2nd law”, arrives on Sept. 18th.
They’ve come up with an interesting promo, which you can see on Pretty Much Amazing, by clicking here.
It’s shot like a big blockbuster film trailer, replete with their paranoid conspiracy elements. You hear an instrumental track which has all their soaring prog-glam style melodic goodness that Muse always delivers, but at the 1:30 mark, there is a new element; dub step, which works its way into the brief preview of their new song “Unsustainable”. It sounds pretty promising.
And for those in the U.K., looks like you’ll be able to hear that new song on BBC radio tomorrow.
And speaking of Glam; Roxy Music fans have a big surprise for their fans. In honor of their 40th anniversary, they’re releasing a massive box set featuring remasters of all 8 studio albums from Bryan Ferry & Co. In addition, there will be 2 bonus discs of B-sides, remixes and more.
Roxy Music were one of the most unique and influential bands in Britain’s early 70’s Glam Rock movement, with vocalist Bryan Ferry and ambient music Godfather and producer extraordinaire Brian Eno being the most prominent members. For me their best albums remain the 70’s glam masterwork “For Your Pleasure”, and the 80’s bedroom classic “Avalon”. I bet they all sound wonderful remastered.
You can get the full listing details from The Second Disc, by clicking here, or by clicking on the album image below, where you can preorder. It will be released on August 14th. If only I had the kind of pull to get a free promo. Sigh.
