The Most Rocking Holiday Party Playlist

Keep your Holiday Party Rocking with the SLIS Most Rocking Holiday Party Playlist!

So you’re getting ready for your big holiday party, and are planning your music playlist to keep the festivities lively. Why not pick some less obvious and more inspired choices to the list of usual favorites? If you’re a music snob this can always be a challenge!

Well not to worry! I’ve done the hard work for you and have compiled an iTunes playlist of the best holiday related  Alternative Rock, Punk, Metal, New Wave and Classic Rock songs, and a few Novelty songs too. I’ve even thrown some selections you can use for New Year’s.

Yep, it happened.

My choices for inclusion follow the following criteria. Each song picked is either:

  • a holiday classic, but given a more rocking make over.
  • Has something holiday related in the title, lyrics or band name.
  • Has a sound that feels wintery and of the season (the Sigur Ros song I selected sounds to me like someone tracking through the snow).
  • Is a tune from a cult classic holiday special.

This will be the only playlist you’ll ever see that lists both The Cocteau Twins and King Diamond!

FYI, the Christmas song by Scott Weiland is so amazingly bad that I had to include it. It will certainly get your guests in a jovial mood!

If you wish to preview/buy any of the songs below, just click on the selected track and it’ll take you over to iTunes. We receive a commission for each song sold, so thanks for supporting our site!
