Smells Like Infinite Sadness Turns Two

Hey all,

I was so caught up in the SXSW excitement that I almost forgot my own birthday! Well not mine, but the site.

Smells Like Infinite Sadness turned 2 years old as of yesterday.

On my last birthday announcement I’d stated how pleased I was with how things have grown. And while I’m not where I want to be yet,  traffic continues to grow, and I’ve noticed more comments, links, and general good will and buzz towards SLIS, which makes me plenty happy.

On my laundry lists of things  I wanted to do last year, I was fairly ambitious. And due to just general life stuff I havent’ gotten around to all of it; I still hope to get a Podcast going, and have ideas on some merch. That’s still on the radar.

But one thing that’s really helped the site grown (and that’s been super fun) are the celebrity interviews. Last year I’d chatted with Steve Kilbey, and hoped to add more to the site, and I’ve succeeded.

To talk to musical and pop culture heroes like Tommy Victor, Joel Hodgson, Sean Yseult, Phil Anselmo, David J and James Stevenson has been incredible. Expect more in that dept. in the future.

In addition I’ll keep cranking out the reviews, lists, polls, and other stuff that you all expect from me.

I’ve also done some guest blogging at Buddyhead, Examiner and Cracked. To get this far in this amount of time has been very encouraging.

I still get hung up on the occasional techie hiccup (oh how I HATE the techie stuff), and can get lost in the details. So every comment, kind word and social share from all of you mean the world.

Speaking of, I’ve expanded my social media reach, so please continue to share these posts with your friends, family and the vast internet community via the following list below:

A big thanks to all who read, I look forward to an even bigger year ahead at SLIS!

And if you have any requests for stuff you’d like to see us cover in the future, tell me in the comments.
